The annual Gathering and Archdeacon’s Visitation service for Cyprus took place this year at St Barnabas’ Limassol on Saturday October 12th to celebrate the completion of the new extension to the church building.
A large congregation representing all the churches of the archdeaconry was present to hear the Cyprus Visitation Charge and to affirm both their commitment and their friendship. Each church brought a stone with them that had particular significance, and they told its story, and connected that to a Bible text as part of the service.
The theme of ‘living stones’ continued at the end of the service as each person was given a stone on which a cross had been painted, to remind them of the occasion. The stones had been lovingly crafted by members of the congregation in Paphos.
