St Luke, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE had a special musical guest for Harvest Thanksgiving this weekend. Cuban-American Violinist Jaime Jorge has dedicated his talents to sharing the love of God through sacred and classical concerts and special appearances the world over. Jaime expressed his love for the Anglican liturgy and joined the St Luke congregation in the processional and offertory hymns, Bringing in the Sheaves and We Plough the Fields and Scatter as the people brought forward their food donations for the Mission to Seafarers. Jaime played the gradual hymn, Holy Communion meditation, and recessional instrumentals seamlessly within our Harvest liturgy. The people of St Luke were amazed by Jaime’s virtuosity which brought a feeling of elation to the worship. A special Harvest Thanksgiving luncheon was served in the vicarage garden. This was a special ecumenical event since Jaime Jorge was brought to Ras Al Khaimah by our neighbours at the Gulf Field of Seventh Day Adventists, RAK, for their Camp Meeting and offered his talents to St Luke through SDA Pastor Steven Manoukian.
