Baghdad meets Lambeth

Fr Faiz Jerjes, parish priest of St George Baghdad, called on the Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace on Tuesday 6 November. Accompanied by Mr Sinan Kakarash, his administrator, and Bishop Michael, diocesan bishop, Faiz told the archbishop of daily life in a city currently restless for change and for an end to inertia and corruption. At the midday eucharist the archbishop invited Fr Faiz to lead intercessions in Arabic. In the afternoon a group of specialist staff sat with the visitors and asked searching questions.
