Prayers for the well-being of asylum-seekers and refugees

Almighty and merciful God,
whose Son became a refugee and had no place to call his own; look with mercy on those who today are fleeing from danger, homeless and hungry.
Bless those who work to bring them relief;
inspire generosity and compassion in all our hearts;
and guide the nations of the world towards that day when all will rejoice in your kingdom of justice and of peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.   (Church of England)

Heavenly Father,
you are the source of all goodness, generosity and love.
We thank you for opening the hearts of many to those who are fleeing for their lives.
Help us now to open our arms in welcome, and reach out our hands in support:
that the desperate may find new hope, and lives torn apart be restored.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who fled persecution at his birth,
and at his last, triumphed over death. Amen   (The Tin Church, Bedmond)

God of the journey, God of the traveller,
we pray for all who leave their homes
in search of new beginnings and possibilities. May they know your presence with them. Amen

Blessed are You, Lord God, King of all creation. It is through Your goodness,
that we live in this land you have so richly blessed.
Help us always to recognise that our blessings come from you. Remind us to share them with others,
especially those who come to us today from other lands. Help us to be generous, just, and welcoming,
as you have been, and are, generous to us.   Amen   (Diocese of Syracuse)
