Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has conferred the honour of an MBE – making him a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire – on Canon Faiz Jerjes, parish priest of St George Baghdad and well-known public figure in Iraq.

The citation makes reference to his “services to the Anglican, Christian, and local community in Baghdad”.
